What running a race looks like

From setup
to finish line.

Five stages, one stack. Here is what each part of the platform actually does for an organizer running a real event.

01 · The setup

Configure the race the way you would actually run it.

Distance categories, waiver text, emergency contact requirements, bib assignment rules, and wave start windows live in the organizer dashboard. Configured once, applied to every runner on registration.

  • Multi-distance categories
  • Waiver + emergency contact capture
  • Bib assignment + waves
  • Race-week communications schedule

02 · Registration

From the first sign-up to the closed window.

Runners register on the public event page, pay through Amwalpay, and receive an instant confirmation email. Waivers and emergency contacts are captured at checkout. Refunds — when they happen — run through the same engine that produces the audit log.

  • Public registration page
  • Amwalpay checkout (cards, OmanNet, mobile wallet)
  • Audit-logged refund engine
  • Waitlist + transfer + guardian flows

03 · Race day

Check-in, scanner, kiosk — running on tablets.

Race-day operations run on the Barq Lane bib scanner, walk-up kiosk, and check-in queue. Volunteers use the same tablet UI we ship to every organizer. The race times out, finishers cross the line, and the system logs each check-in to the audit trail.

  • QR-coded bib scanner
  • Walk-up registration kiosk
  • Check-in queue board
  • Offline-ready

04 · Money

Real GMV through a real Omani gateway.

Every paid registration flows through Amwalpay — the Omani gateway behind Visa/MC, OmanNet, and mobile wallets. The finance dashboard reconciles revenue by category, the refund engine balances the ledger, and platform payout to the organizer runs on a monthly schedule.

  • Amwalpay-powered checkout (PCI-DSS)
  • Revenue reconciliation by category
  • Automated refund engine
  • Monthly OMR payout to organizer bank

05 · Comms

Confirmation, reminder, result — to the inbox.

Registration confirmation, race-week reminder, and post-race result emails go out via Brevo SMTP through the same transactional pipeline every event on Barq Lane uses. Bilingual EN/AR copy. No third-party email tool to wire in.

  • Confirmation + receipt email
  • Race-week reminder
  • Post-race result email
  • EN / AR templates
