Terms of service
Terms for races, runners, and organizers.
These terms explain how Barq Lane accounts, event registrations, organizer responsibilities, payments, refunds, and race-day data work.
Accounts and registration
You are responsible for the account details, runner profile information, emergency contact information, category selections, and registration information you submit. Events may set their own eligibility rules, age minimums, waiver requirements, and race-day instructions.
Organizer responsibility
Organizers are responsible for their event details, pricing, routes, capacity, safety planning, race-day execution, communications, results, and compliance with any permits or approvals required for their event. Barq Lane provides software for registration and event operations; Barq Lane does not organize, stage, or supervise the races listed by third-party organizers.
Payments and platform fee
Barq Lane facilitates registration payments through the configured payment provider for the event, currently Amwalpay for Oman events. Runners do not pay Barq Lane to create an account. Organizers pay Barq Lane 2.5% per paid registration sold through their events on Barq Lane, unless a written agreement says otherwise.
Refunds and cancellations
Each event's organizer sets the event refund policy. Barq Lane helps record refund requests, approvals, settlement status, and audit history, but the organizer remains responsible for deciding whether a refund is allowed and for completing any required payment-provider settlement. If an event is cancelled, postponed, changed, or affected by weather, permit issues, safety concerns, force majeure, or other race-day conditions, the organizer is responsible for runner communications and any refund, credit, transfer, or deferral decision.
Waivers and race-day risk
Running events involve physical risk. Organizers may require runners or guardians to accept event-specific waivers before participation. Barq Lane may help collect or store waiver acceptance, but the organizer is responsible for the content and enforceability of any event waiver.
Data and privacy
Barq Lane processes account, registration, payment-status, emergency-contact, minor/guardian, operations, communications, results, and audit data to run the platform. Our privacy notice explains the categories of data we collect, why we use it, retention expectations, and how account deletion interacts with financial and audit records.
Liability and disputes
These terms define the operating responsibilities between Barq Lane, organizers, and runners. Disputes, liability limits, and governing-law questions are handled under the written terms and any event-specific agreements that apply.
Changes
We may update these terms as the platform changes. Material changes that affect active accounts or paid registrations should be communicated through the platform or by email.
