Privacy policy
Privacy for runner and event data.
This launch privacy notice describes the data Barq Lane handles today. It covers runner accounts, event registrations, organizer operations, payment-status records, communications, results, certificates, and audit history.
What we collect
Barq Lane collects the account details you provide, including name, email, hashed password, preferred language, runner profile details, event registrations, waitlist entries, saved events, communications preferences, and support messages. Event checkout can also collect date of birth, emergency contact details, waiver acceptance, category choices, team details, and minor or guardian information when an event requires it.
Payments and operations data
For paid events, Barq Lane stores payment status, amount, currency, transaction references, discount usage, refund requests, refund approvals, settlement status, and finance/audit records. Card or bank details are handled by the payment provider, not stored directly by Barq Lane.
How we use data
We use data to create accounts, register runners, run event operations, send transactional email, support organizer dashboards, publish results and certificates, process refunds, protect against abuse, maintain audit trails, diagnose errors, and improve the product.
Organizers and event staff
When you register for an event, the event organizer and approved event staff can access the registration and operational details needed to run that event. This can include runner name, category, bib, emergency contact details, waiver status, check-in status, payment status, refund status, and results.
Service providers
Barq Lane uses service providers for hosting, database, authentication, email, background jobs, analytics, error reporting, file storage, and payment processing. These providers process data only as needed to operate the platform.
Minors and guardians
Some events may allow minors to register only with guardian information or guardian consent. Organizers are responsible for setting event eligibility rules and any guardian or waiver requirements. Barq Lane stores the submitted minor and guardian details so the event can be operated and audited.
Retention and deletion
You can request or perform account deletion from Settings where available. Account profile data and active personal surfaces are removed from the product flow, but financial records, registration history needed for completed events, and audit-log references may be retained where required for integrity, dispute handling, finance reconciliation, legal compliance, or fraud prevention.
Applicable privacy law
Barq Lane operates this privacy notice for the markets it serves, including Oman where applicable. Organizer event setup, runner registration forms, and support workflows should collect only the data needed to run and audit the event.
